WORKPLACES

Benefits

This internship program gives the host organizations an opportunity to have additional entry level workers, to assist existing staff, at no extra cost.

In return, the Language Students have the opportunity to improve their business english and gain valuable work experience in the process.

We also find both parties enjoy exploring each others' cultures, with beneficial outcomes for all concerned.

Operation

We will discuss and agree an outline job description, operational guidelines, and a monitoring schedule with each host organization and student before the commencement of the internship. This ensures the optimum level of communication between all parties, and the effective performance of the student.

We will maintain contact with the student and the designated workplace supervisor throughout the work placement, which will typically be for a period of 6 to 12 weeks.

Interns will have a high intermediate to advanced English level, and we will not submit a candidate whose language skills are not commensurate with the job.

Remuneration

Student participants fully fund their language program and the business experience internship. No remuneration is sought or expected from the host organizations.

Work Permits

All students are required to have visas appropriate for their language studies that are also valid for the internship experience.

Insurance

The students are required to have their own Health & Accident Insurance. Toronto International has General Liability insurance with respect to liability arising from its intern work experience operations.

Guarantee

We understand that 'no cost' is less important to host organizations than 'no problems'. While it is a rare occurrence that there is not a good 'fit', if such a situation arises and we cannot quickly mediate a solution acceptable to the host, we will remove the student, and it will be our responsibility to find an alternative internship placement.
